Presley’s life changed in just a few days.

He was found as a stray near an Anaheim apartment complex after he approached a resident who was walking her own dog. She tried to find his family, and when no one came forward, she safely brought him to the shelter.

At intake, Presley had no microchip or identification. Outside the shelter environment, he was able to approach a stranger and be safely transported. But the stress of the shelter has overwhelmed him.

Inside the kennel, Presley has become frightened and defensive. He is showing signs of fear and anxiety, and shelter staff believe he needs rescue placement with experienced support, patience, and time to decompress.

Behind his fearful reactions is a dog who was once looking for help.

Presley deserves the chance to feel safe again — not to be judged by his worst moments in a stressful environment.
