🐾 Help Percival Survive – EUTH ALERT 07-06-2026

Percival is a 10-year-old German Shepherd who arrived at OC Animal Care as a stray with no owner information. He entered the shelter without anyone searching for him, and his condition shows that he has likely been through a difficult journey.

This senior boy is battling severe chronic dermatitis, painful ear infections, significant hair loss, and stiffness in his hind legs. He has started receiving treatment, but he urgently needs an experienced rescue willing to continue his care and help him recover.

The shelter has also noted that Percival is fearful and under-socialized. He has shown stress around human interaction, including growling and barrier-reactive behavior while in his kennel. In the shelter environment, fear and discomfort can make it difficult for dogs like Percival to show who they truly are.

Percival is not a bad dog — he is a dog who needs patience, understanding, and a chance. The right rescue, foster, and support system may be the first safe place he has had in a long time.

Hope Paws Support Fund is raising money to help remove financial barriers for Percival’s rescue. Donations will help support his transportation, veterinary care, medications, foster placement, and essential supplies as he begins his journey toward healing.

After everything he has endured, Percival deserves more than a kennel. He deserves comfort, compassion, and the chance to experience love in his senior years.
