Dog Transportation Network – Move Dogs to Safety

Distance should never block a second chance.

Every day, dogs in overcrowded shelters face euthanasia simply because they cannot find a foster or adoptive home nearby. Rescue organizations are often located hundreds or thousands of miles away, ready to help—but the cost of transport stands in the way.

That is why Hope Paws Support Fund created the Dog Transportation Network. We fund and coordinate safe travel for dogs moving from high-risk shelters to foster and adoptive homes across the United States.

The Problem

Overcrowded shelters in Southern California are stretched beyond capacity. According to the Best Friends Network, thousands of public and private shelters, rescue groups, and animal welfare organizations are working together to save the lives of dogs and cats across the country . Yet dogs continue to be euthanized simply because they cannot get to the rescues and adopters who are ready to help them.

Transportation is the missing link. Rescues in other states are willing to take dogs, but the cost of fuel, commercial transport, and supplies often makes it impossible.

Our Dog Transportation Network closes that gap.
