Oikos made it out of the shelter.

But his journey to safety has only just begun.

After being abandoned and left tied to a light pole, Oikos was finally rescued by My Forever Love Rescue at 07/10/2026. For a brief moment, it looked like his story was about to have a happy ending.

Just hours later, everything changed.

The foster who had agreed to take Oikos decided they no longer wanted him. After meeting him in person and introducing him to their own dog, they chose not to continue fostering, leaving Oikos without a safe place to go only hours after he had escaped euthanasia.

For a dog who has already experienced abandonment, this was another heartbreaking setback.

The good news is that Oikos is already beginning to show progress. As he settles into a safe environment, he is slowly coming out of his shell. He walks nicely on a leash, enjoys gentle encouragement, and simply needs a patient, committed foster who understands that frightened dogs need time to decompress. Loud noises and unfamiliar situations can still startle him, causing him to seek a place to hide, but each day he is gaining confidence.

Hope Paws Support Fund is raising money to help cover Oikos’ unexpected boarding costs, foster support, veterinary care, food, transportation, and other essential expenses while My Forever Love Rescue searches for the committed foster he deserves.

Every donation gives Oikos more time, more stability, and one less reason for a rescue to worry about saying “yes.”

After being abandoned once and losing his foster within hours of freedom, Oikos deserves to know that this time, someone will stay.
